American Christian graphite drawing of a girl and a bull beneath a cross with an American flag staked in the ground, full composition — God's Country, by Kate McDuffie

God's Country

God’s Country is a mixed media work from the Back to God collection, executed primarily in graphite with colored pencil accents on 22×30 inch archival paper. At the center of the composition stands a girl with a bull.

Two small collage elements are affixed directly to the surface: a California quail, California's state bird, and a clementine, nodding to the fertile abundance of the American landscape. The work is an expression of deep gratitude for America - a country of remarkable freedoms, abundance, and long defined by its openness to those who come seeking a life of prosperity and possibility.

Presented in a custom-built walnut light box frame with embedded LED strips and museum-quality non-reflective glass.
